Composer Alexandra Pakhmutova is going through the most difficult days. On the night of last Sunday, the person closest to her passed away – her loving husband and constant co-author, the outstanding poet Nikolai Dobronravov. On Wednesday, Dobronravov’s funeral service took place in the Sretensky Monastery, then a farewell took place in the hall named after. Tchaikovsky, the poet found his last refuge at the Novodevichy cemetery.
Alexandra Pakhmutova had the strength to take part in all the funeral ceremonies.

According to our interlocutors, Alexandra Nikolaevna seeks solace in music – in what she and Nikolai Dobronravov had in common all their lives.
“She sometimes comes to the piano again,” they told us, “friends are ready to be with her all the time, but Alexandra Nikolaevna at some moments tends to be alone, her loved ones try to feel her state as much as possible and adapt to it.
