As you know, yesterday at one of the largest warehouses in the country – Ozon’s hub near Moscow, there was a major fire. The roof collapse area was 22 thousand square meters. m. Many goods that were in the warehouse were destroyed or became unusable.
Not only fire brigades were involved in extinguishing the fire, but also helicopters, as well as a fire train. It was possible to extinguish the fire only on the morning of August 4, but even after the helicopters had to return to the place of the fire, as the fire flared up again. Preliminary damage from the fire is estimated at more than 10 billion rubles.
As stated in the press service of the company, it is expected to return money to customers for all orders that are not delivered on time. Sellers will also be compensated for their damaged goods: Ozon plans to refund them by the end of September.
However, this does not mean that the company will wait until September 30 to start paying people money. This will be done as soon as it is possible to carry out an inventory and analyze what has been affected and what has not.
Compensation calculation is planned to be calculated according to tariffs as if the goods were sold on August 3rd. Goods that were only supposed to get to the warehouse in Novaya Riga were redirected to other warehouses in the Moscow region.
