The head of Rosreestr Oleg Skufinsky said “RIA Real Estate”that from the start of the garage amnesty in 2021 until January 1, 2024, Russians registered 318 thousand objects under a simplified scheme, including 115 thousand garages and 203 thousand land plots.
According to Mr. Skufinsky, in 2023, Russians registered more than 180 thousand objects (about 63 thousand garages and more than 117 thousand plots) under the garage amnesty. Rosreestr told the agency that the majority of garages were registered using the simplified procedure in Tatarstan, Primorsky Territory, and Yaroslavl Region. The top three in terms of the number of land plots registered in the same way included the Moscow Region, Omsk and Tyumen regions, RIA Real Estate reports.
Garage amnesty law entered effective September 1, 2021. It will expire on September 1, 2026. The amnesty applies to garages erected as capital construction projects before December 30, 2004.
