Our skaters will have their own Grand Prix

While Russian skaters are excluded from international competitions, they will be able to demonstrate their skills at domestic ones. In particular, a series of national Grand Prix stages is being launched for the first time. Of the six preliminary in the period from October 19 to November 27, two will be held in Moscow, one each in Sochi, Kazan, Samara and Perm. Juniors and adults will compete in each of the cities.
According to the regulations, any single skater or pair can enter the ice in no more than two stages. Based on the results, the participants of the Grand Prix final will be determined. Sochi will host it in March 2023: juniors will ride on the 2nd and 3rd, and adults will ride on the 4th and 5th.
Dates and other starts are determined. The Russian Championship will take place on December 21-25 in Krasnoyarsk, the Russian Championship will take place on February 14-18 in Perm.
There is a prize fund for the laureates. For example, for a victory in the Grand Prix final, an adult athlete is entitled to one million rubles, and in the national championship – two and a half million.
Fans of figure skating are waiting for a number of competitions, of which the most interesting is the Open Show Program Tournament, scheduled for March 18-19 in Moscow. The peculiarity is that any athletes can perform, regardless of age and status. The main condition is to show a number that the public has not seen before.
The leaders of the Russian Figure Skating Federation emphasize that the season’s prize fund of one hundred million rubles was formed without any involvement of budgetary funds. All costs were borne by the FFKKR partners.
