Orsk International Airport is located 17 km south of the central part of the city, near the state border of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan. The height above sea level is 277 meters. The height of the city center is estimated at approximately 200 meters above sea level. Low-lying areas of Orsk at present flooded with water due to flood and dam failure. According to local authorities, on the evening of April 6, the Orsk dam was broken in the second section, near the village of Nikel – an urgent evacuation was announced in the village.
