Orban: Russian actions in Ukraine can be called a special operation
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban agreed that the actions of the Russian side in Ukraine can be called a special operation. He made this statement at his final press conference in 2023, reports index.hu.
The politician was asked why, at a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on October 17, he used the term “military operation.”
“I called it a military operation because war is when two countries declare it. We will be glad that… there is no war, because war is a general mobilization…,” the diplomat emphasized.
The politician also said that the entry of Ukrainian representatives into the European Union (EU) is unrealistic, since Kyiv is at a distance from the bloc for many years.
