Operators asked for 11 billion rubles to replace foreign equipment and software

Russia’s largest telecom operators have asked the government for more than 11 billion rubles. to replace equipment and software of foreign manufacturers that stopped deliveries due to a special operation in Ukraine. About it writes “Kommersant”, familiarized with 30 passports of projects sent to the industrial competence center “Fixed Communication”, which is supervised by the Ministry of Digital Development.
We are talking about creating our own set-top boxes, systems for deep analysis of DPI traffic packets, Wi-Fi access points, broadband subscriber terminals using GPON ONT technology, routers, switches, radio relay systems and other equipment.
Total for development replacement HuaweiZTE, Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik, TP-link, Tenda and other operators need more than 31.5 billion rubles. ER-Telecom Holding acted as a key customer in 26 projects, in five of them the co-customer is “Rostelecom“. TVELMiranda-Media and JSC Svyaztransneft submitted four more projects.
According to the publication, the Ministry of Finance opposes the financing of these projects, and the Ministry of Digital Development is working on an alternative support mechanism, which may be, for example, preferences in public procurement. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade can support developers within the framework of subsidizing R&D for electronic equipment, the newspaper notes.
Earlier, analysts predicted an increase in communication tariffs for the largest mobile operators in Russia by 10-15% next year, wrote “Vedomosti”. The increase in prices will be associated primarily with the need to purchase sanctioned equipment, which has risen in price due to the suspension of supplies from major international vendors.
