One of the skiers injured in the collapse was left under observation in a Sochi hospital

One of the skiers injured as a result of a collapse during the student sports day race in Sochi remains in the hospital. This was announced by the technical delegate of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Igor Belomestnov.

“All (victims.— “Ъ”) we were already at the hotel yesterday. One is in the hospital under observation. No official information was sent on the number of victims,” Mr. Belomestnov clarified to TASS.

March 8, FLGR President Elena Vyalbe stated, that during the classic style race at the All-Russian Spartakiad at the Laura mountain resort there was a collapse. 17 skiers were hospitalized. In FLGR they assurethat the weather did not contradict the regulations of the ski race. The prosecutor’s office of the Adler district of Sochi is conducting an investigation into the incident.
