Doctor of Economic Sciences Igor Lipsits announced that he resigned from the Higher School of Economics due to the fact that the university management canceled his contract for remote work. From September 1, he leaves the post of his own free will, as he wrote in Telegram. Mr. Lipsitz has been living abroad for three years now.
“Although the Human Resources Department offered me other tempting vacancies at the Higher School of Economics: a passport officer (35,000 rubles/month), a dishwasher (40,000 rubles/month), and even a chief accountant (80,000 rubles/month), I did not find in myself the competencies sufficient to occupy such interesting positions, ”he said.
The HSE press service has not yet commented on this information.
Igor Lipsits has worked at the university since 1993, he is also an ordinary (lifetime) professor at the Higher School of Economics. He was the author of Russia’s first textbook on the market economy for teenagers “Amazing adventures in the country Economy”. In 2019, his economics guide for 10th and 11th graders not included in the federal list of textbooks due to “unpatriotism”.
