“One of 5239”: a programmer found a bride using artificial intelligence

My interlocutor is the same yesterday graduate of the Russian State University for the Humanities, who became famous for defending his thesis written by a neural network. Not everyone perceived this positively then; criticism was also heard from the pages of our newspaper. However, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education allowed the diploma to be accepted and released the student into life. And he made those same neural networks the main theme of his life, even, as we see, he found himself a bride with the help of AI.

– Alexander, it turns out that you are the first person to find a bride using artificial intelligence?

– Maybe yes. I had never heard of such programs before.

– How did you come up with this? Did you really want to quickly meet a decent girl or just for fun?

– Probably, a combination of these root causes played a role. I’m pretty tired of looking for a date on a traditional dating app. At that moment, access to GPT was just beginning to appear, and I decided to take advantage of it, create a bot that would reduce the number of offline meetings to a minimum as a result of the initial processing of incoming information.

– And this initial processing was…

– Searching for applicants, conducting a dialogue with them on the subject of getting to know the inner world, selecting only suitable applicants and promptly interrupting dialogues with unsuitable ones, so as not to waste the time of both.

– How could you “calculate” your man in advance and teach the machine to do this?

– I have my own stop factors, which I included in the selection program. I have installed filters for those positions in a person that are unacceptable to me, or those because of which I will not be able to build a relationship with her, because I will not suit her according to her beliefs. For example, I installed filters on those girls whose communication did not clearly show purposefulness, flexibility, creativity, confidence, independence, trust and support. Let me give you an example. Once we were communicating after the news that I wrote a thesis using ChatGPT, and the girl answered me: “I was wondering who you remind me of?” and condemned my actions. As a result, the program eliminated her as a person who did not correspond to the “Creativity” position.

– That is, bot, and you didn’t stop communicating with her?

“Either he stopped it or switched it to silent mode.”

– Did you agree with this “action” of his? As far as I understand, criticism of non-autonomous actions does not deny that the critic can accept other types of creativity.

– I admit this, but I remind you that I created the chatbot for myself, and therefore criticism of my work played a decisive role. By the way, the bot suggested that I give an answer to that interlocutor (maybe everything would have gone differently after talking with her), but I refused, I just didn’t want to answer anything.

– How many girls did you end up talking to using AI?

– In total, 5239 people passed through my bot. About 300 of the first girls communicated with the not very intelligent Model VI and… disappeared on their own.

– What did they lack?

– The first version did not include many necessary things: a calendar, my personal information, additional filters. For example, they asked me where I was studying (I was then in my 5th year at the Russian State University for the Humanities), but the bot “froze” because it simply did not have this information.

– You, that is, he, didn’t ask your interlocutors about their physical status, their figure parameters?

– No. But I gave the bot tasks to cut off candidates with overly rich bouquets in photographs that could be read as an obsessive hint of rich gifts, with “noisy” (that is, unclear) photographs, with photographs where they expose their breasts, etc.

– What was most important for you – your attitude towards marriage, having children…?

“Nothing about marriage, nothing about children, I wasn’t interested in pedigree either.” Having a profession – yes, an attitude towards religion – yes (it was important for me to meet an atheist like me), and an attitude towards astrology. Girls who asked my chatbot about my zodiac sign were immediately blocked by it.

– Did the young ladies whom you later met realize that at the first stage they did not communicate with you personally?

– There were more than a hundred such meetings over the past year, and almost no one asked me this question. Unless someone in the process of communication might ask a question: is a bot talking to them? To which he immediately wrote the truth.

– And what was their reaction?

“They immediately stopped communicating.

– How did you end up choosing your Karina (that’s the name of Alexander’s chosen one)?

“I decided to meet with her after lengthy dialogues, and already at the meeting, for which I prepared on the basis of the most complete information about her, I realized that I was not mistaken. We started dating and went on vacation. She just turned out to be my person, meeting all my dreams.

– Describe what she is like, who she works for?

– She is a little younger than me, works as an analyst in one of the well-known banks, is incredibly empathic, cheerful, pretty, always suggests some kind of activity, is happy about my activities, appreciates my charisma, and is always ready to support.

– Did your parents take your way of finding a bride easy?

– Of course, there are many questions, but we find a common language.
