On the Volokolamsk Highway, the house-a masterpiece of neoclassicism was repaired

As part of a major overhaul program in the north of Moscow, house No. 10 on Volokolamsk Highway was put in order. The residential building was erected in 1957 according to an individual project and is masterpiece of neoclassicism.

According to the press service of the Capital Repair Fund of the City of Moscow (FKR), specialists repaired the facade, roof, basements, andAchanged internalelower engineering systems.

House No. 10 on Volokolamsk Highway is a bright and extremely interesting object. We developed unique project of work, taking into account all the nuances, both aesthetic and constructive. During the work, a number of advanced technologies were used to maximum accuracy to preserve the original beauty of the object,” said deputy generalAVladimir Kozhichenkov, Deputy Director of the FKR Moscow.

Before proceeding with the restoration of the facade of the building and its architectural decoration, the outer walls were washed and cleaned of dirt. Further, the brickwork was strengthened, for this, high-quality modern mixtures were used. Cracks were sealed with mortars increased strength and resistance to external influences. Work was carried out on the reconstruction and re-assembly of the lost architectural decor.

“Afterward, the architectural decor was carefully put in order. Thanks to laser scanning, it was possible to fragment the stucco molding, restore its former sophistication and beauty,” the FCR noted.

The crowning cornice and decorative ends of the balcony slabs were carefully restored. Wet places were treated with an antiseptic solution. Then the walls were hydrophobized with silicone emulsion.th. The entrance groups were repaired in the house and a new drainage system of the building was installed.

As part of a comprehensive overhaul, the roof was repaired. Specialists the lathing, dormer windows, roofing and part of the rafters, which showed signs of damage, were replaced. House No. 10 on Volokolamsk highway It is L-shaped in plan. The main and end facades are made of ceramic blocks, the yard facades are made of silicate brick. At the level of the first and second floors there are high display windows. The façade at the level of the 8th – 10th floor is accentuated by architraves uniting the verticals of the French balconies. On the axes of the entrance groups of the main facade there are also open balconies with artistic metal. The crowning cornice is decorated with ionics. The roof has a large extension, which is supported by brackets of a complex profile.

The Moscow Capital Improvement Program is one of the largest housing modernization projects not only in Russia, but in the world. The program includes more than 28,500 houses with a total area of ​​more than 275 million square meters. m, in which it is planned to repair more than 355 thousand engineering systems and structural elements of buildings and replace more than 112 thousand elevators.

To clarify the timing and types of work under the overhaul program, so-called short-term implementation plans are drawn up. For 2021-2023, such a plan has already been approved. It included 4437 houses of the capital with a total area of ​​34.2 million square meters. In 2023, repairs will begin in 2.3 thousand houses.
