On the Sakhalin “Mountain Air” they want to develop freestyle

The Freestyle Federation of Russia considers STK “Mountain Air” as a potential place for the development of this kind of skiing on Sakhalin. Experts have already inspected the sports complex and identified possible places for the tracks, the press service of “Mountain Air” reported.
Based on the results of the work, the representatives of the federation chose locations suitable for the location of mogul tracks, acrobatics and big air.
“Building mogul and acrobatics tracks is a very complex process, they often look like real works of art. In the future, we will be able to host competitions among the strongest athletes in the brightest acrobatic disciplines,” the STK said.
Freestyle federation experts noted in their report that they are already actively cooperating with the region in terms of organizing training camps on the island. In addition, there are sports groups and freestyle coaches on Sakhalin, the only thing missing is modern sports facilities for the disciplines of this sport.
“If there is confidence in the appearance of tracks and the interest of the region, we are ready to add a number of major competitions on Sakhalin to the calendar of Russian events in the coming season,” the freestyle federation said.
Formerly MK on Sakhalin wrotethat at the end of March, amateur freestyle competitions in the format of CLASH OF SLASH jam sessions took place on Mount Parkovaya in the regional center. More than 60 skiers and snowboarders from Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and cities of the Sakhalin region took part in the competition.
