On the day of his 50th anniversary, Milonov spoke about the fate of gays: “The difficult situation with sorcerers”

“I can’t stand big feasts in which I am the subject of attention,” Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Issues of Paternity, Maternity and Childhood, told MK. – It’s easier for me to sit in a family with children in St. Petersburg, where they will buy me pizza, make drawings, without pretentious ceremonial speeches, without postcards copied on the Internet, just receive human wishes. But I’ll spend this day in Moscow, a couple of friends have already come, a couple more will come in the evening.

– How did the head of your committee, Nina Ostanina, congratulate you?

– She thanked me and said that it was thanks to me that such great attention was paid to the work of our committee.

– Well-deserved praise?

– Agree, it would be bad if no one talked about the committee on family issues. If we had tedium, green melancholy and protocol duty events, if we did not generate any meanings and vectors of direction for comprehension. Because no one has ever thought about, for example, the social value system of marriage and divorce. And in the law it is absolutely the same whether to get married or get divorced – only the civil status act changes. No one is fighting to ensure that there are fewer divorces.

– Well, do you propose to impose a fine in case of divorce?

– This is a kind of antidote against the materialistic approach. Some believe that all this can be stimulated with cash payments. But this does not work and does not solve the problem. A family is formed not because someone gets 10 thousand, but because people love each other and consider family an important value in their lives. And if we live in a society of “naked” partygoers, then our family will be the same.

– You are the main defender of family values. What kind of conflict did you have with your wife after 22 years of marriage? She posted a photo with her kids and announced she was leaving?

– Nothing. Conflicts within families are common. The very last thing you can suggest is to publicly discuss your family difficulties. This is extremely undignified.

– You said that for the harmonious development of a family there should be more than five children. You have six of them. How many more children are you planning?

– The Lord didn’t give any more. As much as he gave, so much is good.

– Previously, your annual income exceeded 6 million rubles, you have a service apartment of 170 square meters, 2 plots of land, three cars and an expensive German motorcycle. For a couple of years now, State Duma deputies have been allowed not to declare their income. How do you feel about this and what kind of declaration would you submit this year? What did you get?

– Two plots are 20 acres. I haven’t been there for a long time; one of them was bought in the Leningrad region for a hundred bucks. I can neither get to them nor sell them. Everything, where I live and what I drive, is all visible, I have one car, my wife has her own car. I have nothing to hide.

– Is it true that, as a football fan, you have never watched the players play at the stadium?

– Never.

– Some want to save Deputy Milonov – they say that you want to become a priest…

– I know, this was the favorite trend of the St. Petersburg “pickers”, so that when I became a priest, I would not interfere with them promoting their values ​​in society. Most of the proponents of this idea now live in Tbilisi and Berlin, so this is no longer a matter of the internal Russian agenda.

– Are you seriously planning to deprive foreign agents of the titles of People’s Artists, their orders and medals?

– I’m not on the agenda of all these titles, I don’t understand how they are awarded and deprived. If a person curses our country, like Makarevich (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation – author’s note), then he certainly cannot bear the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. It’s clear that he doesn’t care about it.

– Do you plan to return Article 121 on sodomy, abolished 30 years ago, to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation?

– No. As for the propaganda of homosexuality at the legislative level, we did everything we wanted. I have no more questions in this direction.

– Should gays be jailed for being gay?

– No.

– Your colleague, State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev, decided to ban emoticons, which he saw as supporting a post about same-sex love. What else would you ban in our society?

– This is how I did it back in 2013, when Apple first made emoji with LGBT flags (the movement is recognized as extremist in Russia – author’s note). I suggested that this should not be allowed in Russia, they told me that I was an obscurantist.

– In addition to the obscurantist, you are called the main fighter for morality. Have you come to terms with such labels?

– So this is praise! The main thing is not to become proud of such epithets. Undeservedly, of course, but I sincerely like that at least to a small extent I am associated with this.

– What new perversions have you encountered in 2024?

– The tasks are big. We have a catastrophic problem with abortion, a catastrophic problem with divorce, a very difficult situation with magicians and sorcerers, who are still considered almost full-fledged citizens of our society.

Our conservative part of society is very divided. Some high-status VIP conservatives immediately appeared, who are afraid of everything and set their own slow, clumsy approaches to the system, and ordinary folk conservatives. They are the protective reaction of the social organism from many destructive deviant things that people would not like to see.

My most extravagant escapade was…running into a crowd of homosexuals during their parade in St. Petersburg.
