Mishustin dissolved the organizing committee for preparations for participation in EXPO 2025

The Organizing Committee for the preparation of the Russian exposition for participation in the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 has been abolished. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
This decision followed a statement by Japanese authorities that Tokyo, as the organizer of the exhibition, proceeds from the fact that Russia will not take part in EXPO 2025 if the situation in Ukraine is not resolved.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the work of the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh could be extended after April 12 – for the summer period. He also suggested thinking about broadcasting the experience of the Russia exhibition to Russian regions, since “This is a successful experiment”.
On January 15, at the site of the international exhibition and forum “Russia” at VDNKh, on Putin’s instructions, the first All-Russian municipal forum “Small Motherland – the Strength of Russia” opened. He united more than 7 thousand representatives of municipalitiesline ministries and departments, business and non-profit organizations.
