On the border with Estonia, Russia installed a copy of the T-34 dismantled in Narva

In Ivangorod, which is located in close proximity to Narva, an exact copy of the monument to the T-34 tank, which was dismantled by the Estonian authorities a month ago, was installed right at the border crossing on the day of the tanker. About it informs RG.RU

The new monument, as the newspaper writes, is perfectly visible from both sides of the border. It is noted that only a narrow river separates the two cities, and residents always crossed the border on the bridge on foot.

The incident with the tank has exacerbated the tension that has arisen in recent months between Ivangorod and Narva. Veteran Nadezhda Filicheva said she would still consider whether she needed an Estonian visa, which is now being denied to Russians.

“Why should I go there if the authorities of the country do not respect their own residents,” the veteran said. According to her, the mayor of Narva “until the last” did not want to dismantle the monument. “Ivangorod residents have met with her more than once, we know that she honors the memory of war veterans – both Russian and Estonian,” says Filicheva.

Earlier, on Sunday, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov said that at one of the meetings with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it was decided to restore military monuments to Soviet liberators, dismantled in other countries, in Russia. According to him, this idea belongs to Shoigu, and he proposed to install such monuments “on the territory of the Russian Federation in front of the neighboring state, where they were demolished.”
