The Ministry of Digital Development is developing a functionality that will allow you to delete your personal data through the “Gosuslugi” from the services where they were provided. This was stated by Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin, write “RIA News”.
“As for the “Gosuslug” and managing your data, such functionality is currently being developed, and soon it will already work. This is also a very convenient option, because we do not always remember to whom and when we gave our data,” Gorelkin said, speaking about the possibility of deleting his biometrics.
December 21, 2022 State Duma accepted a law establishing a ban on the forced collection of biometrics, as well as any discrimination against persons who refused to surrender it. The adopted law fixes the voluntary status of the delivery of biometrics, and the collection of biometrics of minors will be carried out only with the consent of the parents. Refusal to submit biometrics can be issued in writing through any branch of the MFC. Citizens who do not want to provide biometric data will not be able to be denied services, including state and municipal services, any discrimination or denial of services in connection with this will be punished.
In addition, you can revoke your previously given consent to the processing of biometrics at any time. For minor children, this can be done by parents or guardians.
This law December 29 signed Russian President Vladimir Putin.
