Part of the old source codes of Yandex services appeared on the network

The source codes of some Yandex services from its internal repository appeared in the public domain, the company confirmed leak in TASS comments.

“Yandex security service has found code fragments from an internal repository in the public domain. However, their content differs from the current version of the repository, which is used in Yandex services, they said.

The company also emphasized that there is no threat to the data of our users or the health of the platform. At the same time, the source of the agency in Yandex noted that the source codes were on the network through the fault of one of the company’s employees.

As notes Habr, which reported the leak at night, the total amount of archives found on the network is almost 45 GB in compressed form.

In December, Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development declaredthat the agency has developed a bill on turnover fines for companies for leaking users’ personal data, they can amount to up to 3% of the organization’s turnover. The Minister also called the situation with the leakage of personal data “serious” and “difficult”. On January 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to consider introducing turnover fines for companies that leaked personal data by July 1.
