Sergei Vlasov was born in the arms capital and since 1984 he built his coaching career at the Metal sports club, after which he trained athletes at Metallurg and Yunost. The total work experience of the Tula sambo wrestler was 32 years.
Sergei Vlasov has 13 masters of sports of the USSR and Russia, and the rest of the students are prize-winners of regional, All-Russian and international competitions. Among the outstanding athletes with whom the legendary Tula resident trained are Ilya Petukhov, Nikita Retyunsky, Ilya Tokarev and Stanislav Kolbasov.
