President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova to assign a special status to children who suffered during the military operation in Ukraine. The Ombudsman herself announced this. According to her, a mechanism is being created to identify such children. What benefits they will receive is not specified.
“Very soon, I hope, there will be a government decree on the mechanism for identifying such children and receiving all supporting benefits and benefits,” she said on the sidelines of the Ticket to the Future career guidance festival in Yekaterinburg (quoted by TASS). She previously said that there are about 1,000 such children.
March 17 International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a warrant for the arrest of Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova. The court ruled that they were “allegedly responsible for war crimes related to the illegal deportation of the population (children)” from Ukraine. The Kremlin criticized this decision, but assuredthat it will not affect the work of the president. Ukraine last week asked provide lists of children left in the territories not controlled by Kyiv.
