Canadian hockey player Joe Thornton has officially announced his retirement at the age of 44. He ranks seventh on the list of all-time assists in National Hockey League history. One of 13 hockey players who managed to make more than 1 thousand assists in their career.
“I have officially retired from the NHL. Thought you guys would figure it out sooner, but you kept asking,” Joe Thornton said in a video on social media X.
Joe Thornton is an Olympic champion as part of the Canadian team, twice winner of the World Cup, silver medalist of the World Championship. He played for the San Jose, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Davos clubs.
