We asked the cosmetologist and psychologist why this happens. After all, before everything was quite the opposite. And it was our compatriots who were constantly accused of not taking care of themselves and sinking early.

Liz Truss will remain in history the last prime minister of the bygone era of Elizabeth II. But when she was just nominated for this position, many were surprised by the appearance of the politician.

Numerous wrinkles, tired skin, nasolabial folds … In appearance, Truss looks the same age as Angela Merkel, who is already under seventy. But Trass is far from even pre-retirement age by Russian standards.

Why such rapid aging? Too much responsibility leaving no time for yourself? Or is it the genes of distant great-great-great-grandmothers who survived during the triumph of the Inquisition?

Or do Europeans simply not need beauty, and today they have other priorities? But many foreign female politicians prefer not to look their best. Or “gray mice”, like Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, who, with excellent external data and figure, frankly hides behind baggy clothes and a short, repulsive haircut. Or the same Liz Truss. Or Tarja Halonen, former president of Finland. It’s like they’re competing to look unattractive.

And these are not some hard workers without the opportunity to take care of themselves, but wealthy careerists.

– In fact, it cannot be said that Liz does not take care of herself, having examined the photo of Truss, the cosmetologist Alena stated. – It can be seen from the condition of the skin that she still does caring procedures, and quite regularly, but …

Why doesn’t it help her?

– Yes, this is typical for many European women. The same Kate Middleton, the new Princess of Wales, looks quite old. She is only 40 years old, but significant signs of aging – the same wrinkles and creeping corners of the lips – are already visible. In reportage photographs, unlike official portrait photographs, this can be seen.

“Don’t they have the time or the means to look their best?”

– Firstly, in the same royal family, as far as I heard, there was a direct ban on radical surgical procedures by the queen. That is, members of the BCS cannot do a tightening. Perhaps now, under Charles III, this will change. Although now there are so many hardware and injection techniques that allow you not to go under the knife and maintain youth for a long time. But after all, the appearance also depends on the lifestyle that a person leads. Among the European establishment, it is now very fashionable to dry off and follow a diet with a minimum amount of fat. But fatty tissue produces female hormones. And the appearance directly depends on their number. The disadvantage, as in menopause, includes the mechanisms of aging. There is no fat, but a lot of sports, strength training. From here comes the production of testosterone, and this is already a male hormone that does not add beauty to the skin.

What about not exercising?

“I think everything should be in moderation,” the beautician concluded.

“The truth is that European women, unlike Russian women, have long since changed their priorities,” says psychologist Lidia Mikhailova. – We still have a patriarchal and sexist society, no matter how we strive for equality, and the level at which she can rise depends on the beauty and grooming of a lady, on how much men like her. Not only success in her personal life, but her career depends on it. The gender of a woman is her ceiling, as they say. In the West, it doesn’t matter at all. On the contrary, it is customary there not to look too sexy, but to rely on one’s intellect, and it is excessive beauty, as in the Middle Ages, that can stall a political career. Although, say, the same President of Croatia, Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, did not prevent her attractive appearance from winning the elections, however, when they see her, everyone immediately begins to discuss her forms, and not reforms.

By the way, before everything was exactly the opposite. And it was Russian women who were usually accused of the fact that, having crossed the fifty-year milestone, they immediately turned into grandmothers.

Now the generation born in the 70s, whose youth fell on the dashing 90s, is coming to this age. It was with us that the deficit ended, there was plenty of cosmetics and clothes. So the habit of buying everything and a lot remained. And there were means to preserve and increase youth. Therefore, our women politicians win against the backdrop of Western ones and strive to invest in their appearance to the last.

The new generation of both Russians and Europeans is gradually unifying: a jacket, jeans, a backpack on the back, a short haircut on the head or hair in a ponytail. Not an ounce of makeup, no jewelry, instead of heels ballet shoes or sneakers even under a dress – it seems that women do not care how they look. The main thing is that they themselves feel comfortable and comfortable.
