NYT: Google is about to add new AI features to its search

Google is considering adding a range of new artificial intelligence (AI) features to its search engine. About it informs New York Times (NYT), citing sources within the company. This decision is associated with rumors about a possible pre-installation of Microsoft’s Bing search engine on Samsung smartphones.
Google is set to release a set of AI tools in May 2022, with more projects to be revealed in the fall. Initially, about 1 million people will receive access to new functions, and by the end of the year their number will increase to 30 million. Only the United States plans to test AI search tools.
The new Google Search will be able to write code based on a query, as well as respond to queries about software programming and search for music through a conversation with a chatbot. Among the products being tested is the Gifi tool, which will be able to generate images in search results. The Tivoli Tutor feature will be able to teach a new language through text conversations, and the Searchalong tool will allow you to ask questions to the chatbot while browsing in the Google Chrome browser and learn about activities near the booked hotel, for example.
Sources from the NYT say that Google considers the Bing search engine with AI functionality to be the most serious test for the company in 25 years. Formerly Google introduced own chat bot Bard, but AI made a mistake at the presentation, and later the chat bot was noticed in citing conspiracy theories and fakes. Unlike Bard, Google’s new AI tools will contain ads.
