The nuclear submarine Krasnoyarsk launched Kalibr-PL and Oniks missiles during state tests, TASS reports, citing a source close to the Ministry of Defense. According to him, the tests took place several days ago, the launches were carried out from the White Sea.

As the agency’s interlocutor clarified, one of the missiles was launched from a torpedo tube, the second from a firing complex. Another TASS source added that the transition of the Krasnoyarsk nuclear submarine to the Pacific Fleet is expected in 2024. General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexey Rakhmanov in June saidthat the Navy will receive the nuclear-powered submarine cruiser Emperor Alexander III and the submarine Krasnoyarsk by the end of 2023.

The nuclear submarine “Krasnoyarsk” is part of the project 885M code “Yasen-M”. It was laid down in 2014 and launched in July 2021. Sevmash is currently building six Project 885M nuclear submarines. Three nuclear submarines – Severodvinsk, Kazan and Novosibirsk – have already been transferred to the fleet.

November 5 Ministry of Defense reportedthat “Emperor Alexander III” launched a Bulava ballistic missile.
