NTV channel completed filming of the medical detective “Obstetrician”

In Moscow, the shooting of the medical detective of the NTV channel “Obstetrician” was completed. In the center of the plot is the military surgeon Gleb Kaverin, who, having returned to his native Nizhny Novgorod, immediately gets into an unpleasant story and faces a choice on which his future life depends. The main role in the film was played by the popular theater and film actor Nikita Panfilov. Lena Lotova, Artyom Osipov, Victoria Romanenko, Ivan Agapov and Yulia Takshina are also involved in the project.

Gleb Kaverin (Nikita Panfilov) is a military surgeon. Tough, cynical romantic. After another business trip to Africa, he returns home to Nizhny Novgorod. During a boat trip, a pregnant Internet celebrity becomes ill. Evgeny Borisovich Dobrovolsky (Ivan Agapov), the head of the perinatal center, who accompanied the girl, gets lost in extreme conditions, and Kaverin takes everything into his own hands. Breaking every conceivable rule, he saves the girl and delivers her on the way to the hospital. Now Kaverin is a local celebrity, only a moment of glory goes sideways to him. The correspondent of the local TV channel goes to Gleb’s house, where he finds his wife Marina (Victoria Romanenko) with her lovers – now the whole city knows that she is cheating on him.

“I don’t think my character is like any other character I’ve ever played. Kaverin is a real egocentric, with his oddities, very peculiar, I would even say unique. He knows perfectly well what he is doing and why, he does not listen to anyone, he acts only in a way that is comfortable for him, which annoys everyone around. As an actor, it was interesting for me to observe his internal changes as the story progressed. Of course, we had medical consultants working on the site. I learned how to properly hold the scalpel and clamp, sew with one hand, I learned who should stand where during the operation, it turns out that there is such a hierarchy, a whole huge world. The biggest praise for me was when, after one of the scenes, the expert said: “Now it looked like it,” says Nikita Panfilov, who plays the role of Gleb Kaverin.

Kaverin is crushed, wants to return to Africa, but before leaving, he tries to help another woman in labor, from whom the baby was allegedly stolen. When he got into a fight with the police, he thought he was saving the child, but in the end he went along with the surrogate mother and thereby secured his detention in the bullpen. Police Lieutenant Colonel Startseva (Yulia Takshina) offers him a deal: she will try to hush up the incident if Kaverin helps her. The fact is that several years ago, with the help of IVF, she gave birth to a son in a perinatal center, only a genetic test showed that the baby’s father was not her husband. What is it – a medical error or a deliberate substitution? Startseva wants Kaverin to get a job with Dobrovolsky and do everything to sort out this terrible situation for her. He agrees and tries to solve the problem with the help of the head of the IVF department Elagina (Lena Lotova). This is not entirely true, he deceives Elagina, not telling her why he got a job at the center, but falls in love with her.

“I love my Elagina. Her relationship with the main character is adult and quite recognizable, without far-fetched drama, as screenwriters often like to write now, they are not devoid of humor and romance, there really is love between two adults, and this can be seen in their actions. Of course, I have similarities with my heroine: honesty and decency, for example, ”says Lena Lotova, who plays the role of a reproductive specialist Elagina.

Filming of the multi-part picture took place in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod.
