Novodvinsk dancers took bronze at all-Russian competitions

From September 14 to 17, All-Russian dance sport competitions took place in Yekaterinburg. The Arkhangelsk region was represented at the tournament by the only pair from the region, Andrey Chigridov and Daria Bachurina from Novodvinsk.

Andrey Chigridov and Daria Bachurina are students of the Novodvinsk dance and sports club “Nadezhda”, members of the national team of the Arkhangelsk region. At the All-Russian competitions they performed in the double event and Latin American program. Their coach spoke about the dancers’ decent results.

— The guys successfully completed five qualifying rounds in the biathlon program. Their opponents were 94 pairs from 50 regions of the country. As a result, our couple won bronze medals,” said Denis Chigridov, coach and head of the Nadezhda club. — The dancers showed themselves at a decent level in the Latin American dance program. Here the number of opponents was already much larger – 143 pairs. Serious competition did not scare the guys; they entered the finals of the competition and took fifth place in the final protocol.

Note that these were the first dance competitions in the new sports season. In a month, the next stage of the all-Russian competition “Russian open championship 2023” will take place in Moscow. There Andrey and Daria will represent the Arkhangelsk region in three programs.
