The student of Novgorod University Tigran Mirzoyan won the world championship in unifight, the press service of the university said.

As noted, the competition was held in Sochi. They were attended by over 400 athletes from Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria and Tajikistan. The 20-year-old Novgorodian won in the weight category of 80 kilograms.

“In the final, my opponent was an athlete from Kuban. I understood his tactics, “read” his actions and caught on mistakes: I won the second round by a large margin with a score of 15:4. In the fourth round, with a roundhouse kick, I hit him in the head, at the moment of his action.– said the athlete.

Recall that Mirzoyan was recognized as the master of sports of Russia in unifite. Previously, he won the junior championship of Russia and became a finalist in the world championships.
