Novgorod gymnasts successfully performed at the Special Olympics competitions

Novgorod athletes won 12 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals at the All-Russian Spartakiad of the Special Olympics in rhythmic gymnastics, held in Tolyatti. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Novgorod Region.
Teams from ten regions of Russia took part in the competition. The Novgorod region was represented by pupils of the Galatea sports and recreation center, training under the guidance of Daria Mikhailova.
During the Spartakiad, young Novgorod gymnasts demonstrated their personal programs, as well as group exercises without apparatus and with hoops. It is noted that rhythmic gymnastics classes for girls with intellectual disabilities are held at the Galatea center with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
