Novgorod athletes participate in the Special Olympics in Kazan

A team from the Novgorod region takes part in the Special Olympics Unified Games. The tournament takes place in Kazan from 21 to 28 January. The region is represented by 27 athletes.
Novgorod athletes will compete for the championship in five sports: volleyball, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, futsal and snowshoeing. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
Athletes from 59 regions of Russia and one team from Belarus came to the competition. In total, the Olympiad has 1554 participants.
It should be noted that the Special Olympics Unified Games are competitions for people with special needs in eight winter and ten summer sports.
Formerly “MK in Veliky Novgorod” informedthat a chess player from the Novgorod region took 48th place at the World Championship in Kazakhstan.
