Nadezhda Chepraga believes that this is not her level
In Soviet times, Nadezhda Chepraga was one of the main decorations of all concerts without exception. The singer regularly participated in both “Song of the Year” and New Year’s lights… And then she suddenly disappeared. Moreover, unlike Kirkorov and Lolita, no one declared a public boycott of her. She told MK correspondents why Nadezhda Alekseevna suddenly disappeared from TV screens.
Chepraga first appeared on “Song of the Year” in 1977. Then she performed the joint hit “I Dreamed of the Sound of Rain” with Vladislav Konnov. Since then, Chepraga has sung regularly at the country’s main concert. The audience was especially looking forward to the statuesque beauty with luxurious hair and an amazing voice that was unlike anyone else. In 1982 she performed with the hit “Moldavian Codry”, in 1986 she sang “Happiness to you, people”…
In the early 90s, Chepraga was no longer invited to the festival. However, Nadezhda Alekseevna admitted in a conversation with MK correspondents: she does not suffer from this.
“I just don’t want to do it myself,” says Nadezhda. – I know this whole kitchen. This is not the same level. True, I’m not invited to the “Song of the Year” now. But I’m not asking either.
The artist assures that the lifestyle that she led at the peak of her career, when she disappeared on tour for months, does not appeal to her now.
“I don’t even remember the last time I participated in “Song of the Year,” explains the artist. – I don’t keep count of such things. Even without “Song of the Year” I have enough of everything. I’m working in the studio a lot now. Something I didn’t want at the time. I work with pleasure. This is quite painstaking work that takes a lot of time.
At the same time, Chepraga knows that the audience misses her. Fans regularly write to her that they would like to see her more often on TV.
“It’s good that they write,” says Nadezhda. – It’s worse when my other colleagues bother everyone. On the screen it turns out: godfather, godfather, husband, wife, children…
