Ministry of Internal Affairs pensioner Yuri Novikov tried to explain the murder of his wife, committed by someone else, as jealousy. His wife was shot dead in September 2022 in front of her husband while walking their dog. On Monday, the only witness who turned out to be the customer, as well as the killer, were convicted by the Moscow City Court.

As MK reported at the time, 50-year-old Tatyana Novikova was shot dead on the evening of September 5 near her home in the village of Troitsa. She and her husband walked their shepherd, Ray. The unknown person allegedly first reprimanded the woman because the dog was too aggressive, and then shot her. The operatives were alarmed that the husband did not immediately call the police and an ambulance. These suspicions soon grew into confidence. It turned out that it was Novikov who organized the murder of his wife. Their marriage was cracking at the seams, and property had to be divided. Initially, the crime was supposed to be committed by Novikov’s acquaintance Alexander Kadomsky. The man handed him a revolver revolver in a restaurant on Kaluga Highway. Novikov later said that he brought weapons from Chechnya, where he was on a business trip. Kadomsky himself did not want to fulfill the order, although he received 250 thousand (in total, the insidious husband promised 1 million). He hired a previously convicted repeat offender from St. Petersburg, Vladimir Kychin, and he shot the woman for 70 thousand rubles.

Kadomsky’s case was separated into separate proceedings, and the customer and the contractor were brought to trial. Novikov tried to prove that he was driven not by a selfish motive, but by feelings. However, this did not affect the verdict – as the press service of the Moscow prosecutor’s office told MK, the customer was given 17 years in prison, the killer – 15. By the way, the sister of the deceased, who was present at the meeting, considered the punishment too lenient.
