The head of the department for international organizations at the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Cho Chol-su, said on Wednesday that forcing the country to denuclearize is tantamount to declaring war on North Korea. Cholya Su’s words are reported by the North Korean Central News Agency.

“Forcing the DPRK to give up nuclear weapons is like declaring war,” the diplomat said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, speaking at the 7th session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK in September, said that the republic will not give up nuclear weapons, even if centenary sanctions await it.

At this session, they adopted a decree “Policy on Nuclear Weapons”, legalizing the possession of nuclear weapons within the DPRK.
