Declarations of income and property for 2022 were handed over by 260 deputies of the State Duma, Otari Arshba, chairman of the Duma commission on monitoring the reliability of information about income, said at a plenary meeting, a Vedomosti correspondent reports.

Arshba reminded the deputies of the need to report on income before April 1, noting that the deputies have a regional week next.

On March 1, a law came into force, according to which income declarations of deputies and senators are published in a generalized form – that is, without indicating the names and surnames of parliamentarians. As Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the Committee on State Building and Legislation, emphasized, the mechanisms for submitting declarations and their verification remain unchanged.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin called the initiative “difficult” and said that “if someone tries to hide behind the norm of the law, but at the same time speaks of openness, these are double standards.” At the same time, Volodin filed a declaration last week, his income in 2022 amounted to almost 81 million rubles.

The law signed by the president in early February also simplified the procedure for declaring income and property of regional and municipal deputies who carry out their activities without leaving their main place of work. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the bill, declaredthat “the conditions of a special military operation bring their own specifics [в антикоррупционную работу]”: “But the main thing, probably, is that the actual filing of declarations will continue for everyone, including officials.”
