Investigative Committee: Nizhny Novgorod policeman convicted of using a stun gun on a detainee

A law enforcement officer who beat a detained hooligan and then used a stun gun on him was convicted in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

As reported by the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee, the incident occurred in 2022 in Vyksa. A local resident was taken to the police department on an administrative case of hooliganism.

The detainee did not want to sit quietly in the special detention center and began kicking the door. The now former operational duty officer of the Department of Internal Affairs approached him and hit him in the face. In addition, the security officer, exceeding his authority, inflicted bodily harm on the 41-year-old rowdy with a stun gun.

By court decision, the policeman dismissed from the ranks will spend four years in a general regime correctional colony.
