On August 26-27, in Nizhny Novgorod, at the Nizhny Novgorod Ring circuit, the fifth stage of the interregional drift championship “Russian Drift Series EUROPE 2023” will be held, which will be attended by fifty athletes from Russia and neighboring countries.
RDS EUROPE competitions are beautiful and powerful sports cars, strong drivers, close smoky races, exciting fights and the unique atmosphere of a motorsport festival. Each stage gathers fifty participants, thousands of fans at the circuit and hundreds of thousands of spectators at the screens of the online broadcast.
Drifting is a discipline of motorsport in which drivers compete in the skill of passing a judged section of the race track in a constant controlled skid.
In total, there are six stages in the RDS EUROPE season in the 2023 season: in Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Ryazan. The stage on the Nizhny Novgorod Ring is a long-awaited and beloved one for both participants and fans. The track is very fast and at the same time technical: here you can fully demonstrate the skill of piloting and the capabilities of cars. The stands offer a stunning view of the entire configuration from start to finish, and the proximity of the audience to the racing canvas allows you to feel at the epicenter of the struggle and feel the roar of engines with every cell of your body.
Fifty participants from two dozen cities will compete in Nizhny Novgorod, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Astana, Minsk and many others. Among the pilots are young promising athletes, and recognized favorites of Russian drifting, winners of national and international competitions.
During the breaks between races, all spectators have the opportunity to visit the service park, where participants are preparing for the races, see the cars up close and chat with the teams. On Sunday, before the start of the races, there will be a parade of pilots and an autograph session with the pilots.
On Saturday, August 26, Qualification will take place (single races of all declared pilots), according to the results of which 32 best athletes will be determined, who will continue to fight in pair races on Sunday. On Sunday, August 27, there will be a parade of pilots, pair races and awarding of winners.
