Nine Russian wrestlers disqualified for doping in 2012 samples

International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) reported on the disqualification of nine Russian athletes involved in freestyle wrestling, based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Prohibited substances were found in samples provided by athletes in 2012.
Among those disqualified until March 1, 2023: Daria Leksina, Elena Vostrikova. Until November 18, 2023: Margarita Fatkulina, Elena Getta, Anzhela Kataeva, Elena Kulikova, Alevtina Lisitsina, Anastasia Shchavlinskaya. The said athletes acknowledged the violation and agreed to the annulment of all performance results from November 20, 2012 to November 20, 2014. In this regard, the two-year period of disqualification was set retroactively.
Another Russian athlete, Alexey Shchekov, is suspended until March 1, 2024. According to the ITA report, he did not acknowledge the violation. The agency canceled the results of his performances from April 6, 2012 to March 2, 2022.
During the period of Ineligibility, the Athlete shall not compete at the International or National level organized by a Signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code.
