After the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, nine children from six families were left orphans. Their relatives became guardians, said Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova.

“Thank God, there were relatives nearby who became guardians. For some it is an older adult sister, for others it is a grandmother. Where needed, we got involved and helped. We stay in touch with families in order to provide timely support if necessary,” said the ombudsman in Telegram.

She also stated that of the six children hospitalized after the terrorist attack, five have already been discharged home. 12-year-old Dima remains in the Moscow clinic, who is still in intensive care, but has already regained consciousness.

The terrorist attack was carried out by a group of armed men on the evening of March 22. As a result, 144 people died, including was six children. Damaged more than 500 people. As part of the case, 11 people were detained, including four alleged terrorists. In Russian schools after the tragedy strengthened security measures.
