According to the consulting company NF Group, 23 foreign brands, representing clothing, shoes, electronics and household goods, plan to return to Russia. As TASS reports, 19 brands have already successfully returned to the Russian market.

According to analytical data, companies from Iran, China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, South Korea, UAE, Turkey, India and Italy are returning to Russia. The bulk of these brands (73.9%) specialize in clothing and footwear, while the rest are represented in the categories “Homeware”, “Electronics” and “Books and Souvenirs”.

Earlier, OBI GmH from Germany announced its intention to sue to ban the use of its brands by its former “subsidiary” company in Russia.

The lawsuit was filed in court on November 9 and accepted for consideration. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 10. The lawsuit concerns two trademarks – obi and OBI, which were registered in 2011. The court took measures to secure the claim at the request of the German company.

OBI began its activities in the Russian market in 2003 and opened 27 hypermarkets. In March 2022, the OBI hypermarket chain stopped operating in Russia.
