New Year’s rugby tournament took place in Sochi

The traditional regional rugby tournament “New Year’s Oval” among children’s teams took place in Sochi. Not only local teams, but also players from Krasnodar took part in the competition, the Sochi Department of Physical Culture and Sports said.
The participants were divided into 3 age categories; the entire tournament included more than 120 athletes in 12 teams.
In the oldest category, up to 15 years old, the Sochi team “Yug Sport” won. City gymnasium No. 6 took second place, and the Dagomys team took third place.
Among players under 12 years old, the best result was achieved by the Kasatka team (Sochi), the second place was taken by the Dragons from Krasnodar, and the third place by Dagomys.
In the younger age group (under 10 years old), gymnasium No. 6 from Sochi won, second place went to the Yug Sport team, and Dagomys again took third place.
The winners of the competition were awarded medals and cups.
Previously, rugby players from Sochi successfully spoke in Krasnodar at the tournament in memory of Anatoly Kiselev.
