Apple in the new generation of branded smartphones will switch to “frameless” displays. This is reported Bloomberg in the Power On mailing list.
According to Mark Gurman, editor of the publication, the American company will get rid of the “bangs” in the basic iPhone 15 models in favor of the Dynamic Island element that appeared on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, and the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will use displays made according to new low-pressure injection molding (LIPO) technology. It is stated that this will allow you to get a “frameless” display, in which the thickness of the frames around the perimeter will decrease from the current 2.2 mm to 1.5 mm.
Recall that the premiere of the new iPhone 15 is scheduled for autumn 2023. It is expected that the new Apple Watch Series 9 and the second generation of the flagship Apple Watch Ultra will be shown along with smartphones.
