Maps with the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions annexed to Russia will be in the new history textbooks. This was announced by the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov.
“The textbook contains portraits of heroes, including a new map, monuments, Saur-Mogila,” Mr. Kravtsov told RIA Novosti.
The minister also said that in the new textbooks, the history of Russia for the first time will be compared with the world. “We cannot study the history of Russia in isolation from world history. This was done for the first time so that the guys also understood the processes that were going on in other countries, and were proud of those facts and those results, including those from our history, and understood, in general, the processes, ”Sergey Kravtsov explained the idea.
In 2022, the authorities announced plans to develop new history textbooks for schoolchildren with sections on the Russian military operation in Ukraine. From September 1, 2023, schools will receive textbooks for schoolchildren in grades 10–11. Sergey Kravtsov saidthat manuals for schoolchildren in grades 5-9 will be ready next year.
