New details emerge in the high-profile case of the assassination attempt on the famous Russian singer Abraham Russo, committed 16 years ago. It turned out that the killers followed the artist, as they say, on the heels.
Today, during a court session in the Khamovniki Court, the public prosecutor presented data on the billing of the phones of the accused. It followed from them that the main suspect in the case – the already deceased Mikhail Dyomkin – followed Russo all evening on August 18, that is, right before the assassination attempt. Tracking the location of the mobile phones of both Russo himself and Demkin and his likely accomplices, it can be concluded that their routes were similar and that they were close to a number of key objects that evening. We are talking about the Astoria casino, which the singer visited, and about his house, and other addresses.
Lawyers for the defendants immediately protested, stating that “one thing is a number, another is a phone, and quite a third is who is in the hands of this phone at one time or another. In those materials that the prosecutor is now reading out, there is no name of Dyomkin, these are conjectures of the accuser.” The prosecutor objected that the belonging of a particular phone to Demkin can be judged on the basis of investigative materials.
In addition, the MK correspondent learned that a new lawyer is trying to join the case as a defender of the late Mikhail Demkin. However, Demkina’s sister, who “does not want to allow new lawyers to the process,” unexpectedly spoke out against the entry of a new lawyer into the case.
The next hearing in the well-known case is scheduled for November 8.
