Netflix streaming service introduced a new feature that allows users to share passwords from their account. Each new member will cost an additional $7.99 per month.
Standard members can add one member at $15.49 per month to share their password, while Premium members can add two members, but each will cost $7.99 per month. Owners of the basic or standard plan with ads (worth $9.99 and $6.99 respectively) will not be able to add a member with whom they can share their password.
The new feature is now available in the US and UK (for £4.99 a month) and has been tested in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal and Spain before. In April 2022, the number of Netflix users decreased for the first time in ten years, and the company said that about 100 million people watch Netflix using other people’s passwords.
