The Swiss corporation Nestle has decided not to build a factory for the production of pet food on the territory of the Yuzhny industrial and logistics park (ILP) in the Novosibirsk region. This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development of the region Lev Reshetnikov.
According to him, the planned volume of investments was estimated at 10 billion rubles. The official explained that after receiving the message about the closure of the project, local authorities began to work on the localization of potential residents in the territory of the PLP.
The plant was going to be finally launched next year, and the first production lines were supposed to be activated in 2023. The enterprise’s capacity was estimated at 75 thousand tons of feed annually. The freezing of Nestle’s subsidiary project, Nestle Purina PetCare, became known in late autumn 2022.
Earlier, due to the weakening of the ruble, Nestle in the Russian Federation decided to increase selling prices for food for children.
