Nechaev denies co-authorship in the project on confiscation of property for fakes about the RF Armed Forces

The head of the New People party, Alexey Nechaev, told Kommersant that he is not a co-author of the bill on confiscation of property for fakes about the armed forces (270.3 of the Criminal Code) and calls for activities against the Russian Federation (280.4 of the Criminal Code). On the eve of RIA Novosti with a link to a copy of the document reportedthat the authors of the initiative were the leaders of all factions of the State Duma.
“RIA Novosti made a mistake; I am definitely not a co-author of this bill, nor are any of the deputies of our faction in the State Duma. I cannot say yet whether we will support this bill, we need to read its text in detail, then we will make a decision,” said Mr. Nechaev.
As the agency claimed, in addition to Mr. Nechaev and the leaders of the other parliamentary factions – Vladimir Vasilyev (United Russia), Gennady Zyuganov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Sergei Mironov (A Just Russia – For Truth) and Leonid Slutsky (LDPR) – the authors of the bill are also, in particular, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Vice Speaker Irina Yarovaya, as well as heads of the State Duma Committees on Security and Culture Vasily Piskarev and Elena Yampolskaya spoke.
How reported Vedomosti, RIA Novosti and RTVI, with reference to a copy of the bill, the document proposes to supplement the list of articles of the Criminal Code under which the court can confiscate the property of a convicted person with articles 280.4 and 270.3. Property will be confiscated “if the crime was committed for mercenary reasons.” In addition, it is proposed to deprive state awards for discrediting Russian troops, calls for extremism and the introduction of sanctions, as well as for the rehabilitation of Nazism. It is reported that the initiative was supported by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Justice, Rosfinmonitoring and the government commission on legislative activities.
