Russian figure skater and Olympic champion Tatyana Navka said that her family was intimidated by the Ukrainian special services.
“All these services even came to them, asked all sorts of questions, conducted interrogations, and somehow scared them,” said the ex-athlete. The girl admitted that after the outbreak of hostilities, some of her friends from Ukraine did not communicate with her for a long time, but then friendly relations were resumed.
Navka was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine in 1975. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, she played for the Republic of Belarus, and since 1998 – for the Russian Federation. The former figure skater is married to the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
Navka took gold at the 2006 Olympic Games in ice dancing in a duet with Roman Kostomarov. In addition, she is a two-time world champion and three-time European champion. In recent years, the girl has been staging her own ice shows.
