Oppositionist Alexei Navalny, who is serving a sentence in colony No. 6 in Melehovo, Vladimir Region, complained about the deteriorating conditions in the punishment cell, where he was placed for eight days. According to Alexei Navalny, after the visit of members of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC), three fluorescent lamps were placed in his cell two by three meters.

As a result of the visit, they spoke positively about the conditions of detention in the colony, but Aleksey Melnikov noted that there was “insufficient lighting” in the oppositionist’s cell.

“Therefore, as a result of your visit, absolutely nothing has changed (and even your medicines have not been handed over to me), except for the fact that a huge lamp was placed in my 2×3 meter ShIZO cell, in which as many as three large fluorescent lamps shine,” it says. in the Telegram channel, which is conducted on behalf of Alexei Navalny.

Alexei Navalny said that he asked the administration of the colony to remove “at least one of the lamps”, but was refused. According to him, in such lighting in three months he could go blind. He called on members of the PMC to visit him again and “return everything as it was.”
