Navalny complained about the abolition of attorney-client privilege

Alexei Navalny, who is serving a term in a strict regime colony in Melehovo, Vladimir Region, can no longer see his lawyer in private, according to the oppositionist’s social networks. According to him, now conversations with a lawyer will be supervised, and the exchange of documents is difficult.

“Now, if a lawyer wants to agree with me a draft complaint against a colony, he must give it to the colony itself, that one in three days to me, and then the three-day return trip with my corrections. Very comfortably. True, from my right to protection, and so illusory, there is already formally nothing left, ”the oppositionist’s Telegram channel says.

According to Alexei Navalny, the decision was explained by criminal activities, which he allegedly continues to carry out even in the colony. The post also noted that the politician was accused of communicating with accomplices through a lawyer. At the same time, he stated that the last meetings with the lawyer took place through double plastic glass, and the slot for transferring documents was clogged.

What kind of crimes in question, is not specified. According to Alexei Navalny, the audit materials were called “secret information.”

Navalny was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison in the Yves Rocher case in February 2021. At first, he served time in IK-2 in Pokrov, Vladimir Region. This year, he was sentenced to nine years under the article on fraud and insulting the participants in the trial. After that, he was transferred to a strict regime colony in Melikhovo.
