NATO considers Russia’s actions in the North Atlantic a strategic challenge, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an article for the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.
Stoltenberg pointed out that Russia has significantly increased military activity in the Arctic in recent years.
“Russia’s ability to thwart allied reinforcements in the North Atlantic is a strategic challenge for the North Atlantic Alliance,” he said.
Earlier, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Chairman of the Committee of Senior Officials of the Arctic Council Nikolai Korchunov said that The Arctic region is turning into an international theater military actions.
