Orthodox activists from Novosibirsk demanded that the Uruguayan singer and actress Natalia Oreiro be deprived of Russian citizenship, which she received several years ago. The reason was the artist’s performance at the gay pride parade in Argentina.
One of the authors of the appeal stated “It’s clear that Oreiro is “purposefully promoting sodomy,” and she also appeared at the show in Buenos Aires with her breasts partially exposed, which is also “not very good.” The activist also recalled that in 2018 Oreiro came to a Russian radio station “wearing a sweater with LGBT symbols,” and in 2022 she did “a naked photo shoot in boots with LGBT symbols.”
“We don’t need such a Natasha,” the activist said.
He expressed the opinion that deprivation of citizenship would not be a severe punishment for Oreiro, because she does not live in Russia anyway. According to the activist, the singer, like the French actor Gerard Depardieu, allegedly uses a Russian passport “to evade taxes in their countries.”
Activists sent a letter demanding that Oreiro be deprived of citizenship to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the appeal was registered.
