Specialists of Rospotrebnadzor withdrew from circulation in the regions 71.4 thousand liters of the alcoholic drink “Mr. Cider”, which is considered the cause of poisoning of dozens of Russians.
As noted in the department’s Telegram channel, the surrogate was seized at retail outlets in the Astrakhan region, the Kurgan region, the Republic of Udmurtia, the Vladimir region, the Republic of Crimea, the Ryazan region, the Republic of Mordovia, the Volgograd region, the Republic of Chuvashia, the Republic of Komi, the Penza region, the Ulyanovsk region, Samara region, Perm region, Republic of Mari El, Republic of Bashkortostan and Nizhny Novgorod region.
The first reports of cases of cider poisoning came on June 5 from the Ulyanovsk region – Dimitrovgrad and Ulyanovsk. Then it turned out that the geography of poisonings is much wider. Several dozen Russians were injured, 31 people died.
Poisonous alcohol, which was produced in the Samara region, is seized at retail outlets throughout the country. As part of the criminal investigation, it was determined that the cider could have been made using an alcoholic liquidstored in the warehouse of the Samara head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation since 2012.
In this regard, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police General Vladimir Kolokoltsev, dismissed Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Samara Region, Major General of the Internal Service Yuri Safronov, who oversaw the activities of the rear division of the regional department.
